A frustrating week

I am now 31 weeks pregnant. This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up.

Last week I got the call that I needed insulin, so as of Friday I am now on insulin. They told me the finger pricks would be worse, but I totally disagree. So if you have any pointers on making the insulin less painful I would appreciate it, since I have to take it at least 4 times a day.

Then today was my OB appointment and I am now measuring 3 weeks ahead. Each appointment I go in, I start measuring further ahead. Due to the Gestational diabetes this tends to mean that he is growing faster than most babies, and should end up a large baby. My OB did say he will do his best to keep him to 7 1/2 to 8 pounds when I deliver (we are hoping for the 37 week range, but I have to be progressing myself that early and then he can aid me). I also found out my iron is low and I am anemic, so I also get to take iron pills. I also commented on how I have been having severe cramps and lower back pain and turns out I have a bladder infection and a new Rx for that. So basically everything that is not super serious I now have. lol Praise God my blood pressure was perfect! That is a serious thing I would like to stay away from and diabetes causes your blood pressure to rise and can cause pre-e.

So all in all I am doing well, just some nuisances. I go back in 2 weeks, man time is flying! The little man still has no set name, and still doesn't move alot. He tends to move a lot for about 3-5 minutes in the morning and then in the evening and then pretty still other than that. As I am sitting here typing he is kicking me though, and I love it!
