2 of my sisters were in Ike's direct path, one in Houston and one in Galveston. The one in Galveston did not leave, but stayed with her mother-in-law in her 2nd story apartment (from what I hear 2 blocks from the Seawall). I have not been able to get a hold of her, but my dad said he was able to text her and she responded that they were ok, no electricity or water, but ok. She lives in a 1 story house 6 blocks from the Seawall, so I have yet to hear the condition of her house. My sister in Houston we were able to talk to, and she is fine as well (no electricity or water either). It was pretty scary this morning not being able to get a hold of the one in Gavleston, but thanks to God they are all ok.

Oh, I am soooo glad to hear this!!! I thought I remembered you having a sister in Galveston. Can't believe she stayed!
That's wonderful news Kelly. Thank God they are safe.
That's great news! I'm glad they are ok :)
I am fine! Sean lost my phone the day of the storm, and so I lost all my numbers. Mom was suppose to call you Saturday night. We are staying at the La Quinta in TX City. It was NOT my idea to stay! God watched over our house and if we didn't have a 1/2" piece of wood in our door we would have water in the house. We lost everything in the garage, but will know more tomorrow when we go down to really check it out. I know Sean and I lost all our winter clothes. We are trying to get help with food and gas money. Still in good spirits! God has been great to us! Love you! I did check on y'all when I talked to mom.
Here is a slide show of Galveston before and after Ike.
